I used to have 6-8 degree higher temps upstairs in the summer and now its 1-3 degrees. Much more efficient since I don't over-cool my downstairs now! And with this success I am fully expecting in the winter I can save money by not heating my upstairs bedrooms during the day when no one is in them. Took me a couple hours to figure out how to get it to do what I wanted, but it has all the features I could want and its working great. The build quality is AMAZING. After decades of searching, I finally have solutions to both of my major HVAC issues—issues that are very common. With the assistance of the Flair Puck, my mini split now maintains its room at a consistently excellent temperature. A second Flair Puck is used in combination with Flair vents to maintain rooms in the main house at a consistently excellent temperature. We were suffering with two rooms in our home, one very hot and one very cold. We tried everything to remedy this, new thermostat, room sensors, even opening and closing manual vents at different times of the day and night but to no avail! We have an ecobee system with room sensors, and the issue improved slightly but once we purchased these vents the temperatures have evened out perfectly. The system is simple to set up and uses all of the ecobee equipment seamlessly. The Flair app also has some good additional features such as temperature trends so you can tune the system and improve it over time. Additionally the system improves as you add more units (I only installed two initially to try them) with overall temps getting more even and closer to setpoint The only slight draw back was the integration with the ‘Sleep’ function within Ecobee. As Flair only has Away and Active modes the Ecobee sleep function doesn’t work directly with Flair. This is a problem when everyone is asleep and there is no movement in the rooms as Flair treats this lack of movement as ‘Away’ and the vents close. We were able to get round this using a schedule in Flair to set the rooms active at the same sleep setting in Ecobee, which works but is a bit of a clunky work around! Even with the minor downside of absence of the sleep function integration I would wholeheartedly recommend these units. I have five units now and I am considering purchasing 5 more. I have only had these in for 2 weeks and I have already recommended them to a lot of people I work with!! Great product! Paired with ecobee, suddenly the rooms above my garage are within a couple degrees of the set point, where they used to consistently be 7-10 degrees off (hot in the summer, cold in the winter). My manual vent balancing before would work, but only for a single season before it all needed re-adjustment. Now it just… works? Like magic? United States, 1 year ago Ian T Verified Customer _Flair Puck Pearl White Puck_ We installed a mini split in the top floor of a 1950s duplex in climate zone 3: summers get in the 100s and cool desert-like night times in the 50s and 60s. We expected the mini split to cool during the day and heat at night to keep the room at a baby-friendly temperature, and got a Mitsubishi system that can more than adequately support the square footage. And it did! The system kept us very comfortable that whole first year. But it did not support typical thermostat features like schedules and accessory room sensors out of the box. To add to that the lack of insulation in this old house and the location on the top floor, the embedded temperature sensor was not accurately reading the room so we were constantly adjusting the set point by hand. Our HVAC technicians advised that buying an adapter to support a third-party thermostat would be expensive and possibly ineffective. I found Flair when researching that option and decided to try that first since the implementation cost was far lower and the return policy showed confidence in its efficacy. We got a bridge and puck a month ago. It was easy to set up and we’ve had a positive experience. It’s pretty wild to see how the puck manipulates the set point to trick the mini split into doing the right thing. We’re really happy with how stable the room temperature stays so far. It was an odd application, since it's not lived in year round, with lots of glass in the upper floor, above a walking basemwnt with two bedrooms. It needs minimal heat in a couple rooms to prevent freezing in the winter when unoccupied.
